From cruiser to racer

Understand / Innovate / Deliver

A project born out of a passion to win the Gold Roman Bowl the prestige trophy for the Round the Island Race.

Overview

This race has a long history of seeing slower boat such as Contessers and Folk boats win on their great IRC ratings. We were part of a team involved with a Solent project to turn a cruising Folk boat into a race winner. It was an immense challenge. The boat was in fair condition for cruising but to win it needed to be re-faired and resprayed. The deck repainting with deck grip and all new systems layout in the cockpit. Following the above deck work we needed to optimise it for its IRC rating with, which involved a lot of work down below.
